Pati, Universitas Safin Pati – The GPT chat has recently been widely discussed by the general public. Many students and/or students are familiar with this AI chat engine. Usually many students and/or students use GPT Chat to help them do their assignments.
GPT Chat is an AI language model developed by OpenAI. This model is based on the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture which has been trained using machine learning techniques. GPT Chat is specifically designed to interact with users via text in the form of a conversation.
The risks that students might get, if they depend too much on the GPT Chat. First, in terms of data privacy and security and can cause potential misuse, because ChatGPT can be asked to create program code such as a jailbreak or something that is really to explore security. Students must be careful in its use. Because too often relying on AI to help students, can hinder the development of critical thinking skills. Then, there is the susceptibility to plagiarism. Because, we don’t know where the answer given by Chat GPT came from.
Therefore, students are expected to be more careful and wise in using AI assistance. If indeed students are given the task of writing an essay by the lecturer, then students are expected to answer it themselves. Because lecturers want students to practice to think critically.
